Waihi Beach Environmental Society Inc.

The Waihi Beach Environmental Society Inc. has been contributing to Waihi Beach’s dune care and environmental restoration since 1998. The volunteer group offers a number of ways to get involved with the group’s main services:

  • Dune weeding, planting and restoration projects
  • Bush weeding
  • Predator trapping
  • Rubbish and waste clean up in local areas

The Waihi Beach Environmental Society Inc. works closely with BOP Regional Council Coast Care for key dune planting events during the winter months, and is a member of the Coastal Restoration Trust.

Working Bees + Events

  • Dune weeding working bees are on Wednesdays at 9am. Location varies.
  • Dune and wetland planting, usually in winter months.
