Waihī Beach has a rich diversity of community groups where you can meet like-minded people and enjoy a range of activities.

Waihi Beach Community Shop

Waihi Beach Community Shop was established in 2021. Our sole purpose is to support three local not-for-profit organisations providing services in our community.

Waihi Beach Op Shop

Brought to you by a committee of 8 community groups, the Waihi Beach Op Shop is nestled in the center of the Waihi Beach Village.

Justice of the Peace

A local Justice of the Peace is available at the Waihi Beach Library on Tuesdays from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Other Justice of the Peace services are available by appointment.

Mainly Meals

Mainly Meals offers free homemade freezer meals for people who need a helping hand when unexpected or new life situations occur.

Salvation Army (Food Bank)

The Community Ministries centre in Waihi provides individuals and families with food parcels, budgeting advice, life skills and parenting courses, social work, youth development, and transitional housing.

St Vincent De Paul Support Waihi

Vincentians work to provide person to person, practical and effective help to those in need; sharing their burdens and joys; sowing seeds of hope, and promoting human dignity, justice, and self sufficiency.

Waihi Beach Medical Centre is a family centred surgery offering a full range of general practice services to you and your family, including Pathlab services.

Foot Clinic at Waihi Beach Chemist

Waihi Beach Chemist provides regular Foot Care Clinics in-store with registered nurse Sue Stewart, with nail trimmings, cuticle care, corn and callus removals as well as foot care and advice for fungal treatments.

Waihi Beach Community Response Team

The three local Community Response Teams for Waihi Beach North End, Island View, Bowentown and Athenree, are the volunteer groups who have the overall plan for helping the community after an emergency.

Waihi Lions Club is a charitable service organisation, heavily involved in local community activities and events. Members are local men and women, from all walks of life and experience, and new members are welcomed.

The Waihi Beach Menz Shed is a not for profit organisation that brings folk together to share and learn new skills and have a natter and a laugh in a supportive shared space.

Riverlight Support Group Waihi Beach

Riverlight Support group is a warm, caring group of people who have all experienced suicide of a loved one. Riverlight welcomes all those bereaved, and know from experience that the first step to healing is always the most difficult.

The Innovation Garden Club

The Innovation Garden Club is a free monthly meet up where those interested can get together with likeminded gardeners to connect, create, participate and find inspiration for any garden projects.

Predator Free Waihi Beach

Grey Power Waihi is part of a national advocacy organisation promoting the welfare and well-being of all those citizens in the 50 plus age group.

Waihi Beach Surf Lifesaving Club

The Waihi Beach Lifeguard Services Inc is situated at the northern end of Waihi Beach. The original Waihi Beach Surf Life Saving Club was founded in 1935 and was situated further to the left than the current building.

CanSurf NZ Charitable Trust

CanSurf, now in its 8th year, offers a respite weekend to young people from CanTeen, a peer support network for young people and siblings living with cancer.

Dot Watch Waihi Beach
