CanSurf, now in its 8th year, offers a respite weekend to young people from CanTeen, a peer support network for young people and siblings living with cancer,

The camp is held on the last weekend of November each year and relies on community partnerships, donations and volunteers to share a unique experience of what the Waihi Beach community has to offer.

Hosted since the beginning at the Waihi Beach Top 10 Holiday Park, on the agenda are surf lessons with Waihi Beach Surf School, delicious catering from local cafes Rabbit Moon, Surf Shack and Flat White (not to mention some talented local bakers), breakfast and tour at the Mayor View Fire Station, thrilling Harley Davidson motorbike rides with Bularangi, and morning yoga. The weekend is finished off with a BBQ at the beach with sausages courtesy of Waihi Beach Butchery.
