CanSurf NZ Charitable Trust

CanSurf Waihī Beach, offers a respite weekend to young people from CanTeen, a peer support network for young people and siblings living with cancer.

The camp is held in November each year, and relies on community partnerships, donations and volunteers to share a unique experience of what the Waihī Beach community has to offer.

The weekend is full of the wonderful activities on offer at Waihi Beach. There are surf lessons with Waihī Beach Surf School, delicious catering from local cafes Rabbit Moon, Surf Shack and Flat White, breakfast and a tour at the Mayor View Fire Station, thrilling Harley Davidson motorbike rides with Bularangi, and morning yoga. The weekend is finished off with a BBQ at the beach with sausages courtesy of Waihi Beach Butchery.   Athenree Hot Springs Campground generously opens it's door to host the CanSurf group for the weekend in cabins in their beautiful setting.
